Buying Golf Clubs Online

(Some Helpful Tips)

A lot of golfers are reluctant to buy golf clubs online. I get it. You want to hold the club in your hand and try it out before spending any money.

But online shopping is here to stay and in many cases, it’s the best way to find great deals, track down used clubs that you can’t find locally, and custom order clubs exactly to the specs you want.

So here are some helpful tips to keep in mind when looking online to buy golf clubs…

Our Tips For Buying Online

  • Buy from a reputable store. You can see the list below of the ones we recommend and why.
  • Look for ways to try clubs with minimal risk. Many online golf stores have a “playability guarantee” or similar offer that let you try clubs out for a certain number of days and return them if they aren’t a good fit for you. This is MUCH better than a handful of swings in a poorly calibrated store simulator.
  • Don’t be afraid of used clubs. Even with access to the clubs we test here, I often buy used clubs for myself. Often you can get 99% of the quality for 50% of the price.
  • Do your research and find the right club for you, not the “best” club. You can see that our buying guides here are all tailored to specific needs rather than just a list of the “best” clubs. That’s because every golfer has different needs and you need to find the right club for YOU.

Global Golf is an established golf retailer with a number of physical locations and have been in business almost 20 years. They also carry over 50,000 pre-owned clubs in stock at any given time that you can find on their website.

Their U-try program allows you to test out clubs and even golf tech for 14 days for a small fee. When you are making a big investment, that can be invaluable.

Amazon

Amazon may not be your first choice for buying golf clubs. Frankly, it isn’t ours either. But…so many of you already have Prime Accounts and shop there on the regular, that we include links to Amazon whenever possible so you can compare prices (some clubs just aren’t available).

When it comes to accessories, however, Amazon is a great option. Things like balls, bags, golf tech, and apparel are all readily available on Amazon and often for great prices.
